Seoul City Gas Co., Ltd.(SCG) was established in 1983 by taking over Seoul Municipal Gas Company, the first and only state-run company, in Korea. In 1987. SCG supplied natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers for the first time in Korea.

As such, it has taken an important role of initiating the new era to supply clean energy for citizen’s convenient life and improving clean environment.

It was memorable event in history of Korean city gas industry that SCG had reached the first record of “serving one million households by supplying one million tons of gas in 1996”, to the region twice the size of Seoul Metropolitan area.

For better safety management and customer satisfaction, SCG is making its Best efforts to develop new technology for distribution, construction and gas utilization. In order to enhance the scientific safety management, we launched an integrated safety system safety system that links GIS(Geographic Information System), SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system and MIS(Management Information System) in 1997.

Furthermore, SCG continues growing in the upstream sector by active participation in developing overseas oil and gas projects. To the best of our ability, we will try to achieve the goal to be a global enterprise acceptable to God and faithful to our members and friends through business.
